Whether you want it or not, summer is here…
Here are some thoughts that might give you some perspective as you navigate the next few sunny months.
UNDERSTAND that it’s okay to not want to spend the summer months feeling festive and celebratory.
UNDERSTAND that it’s okay to indulge in your favorite summertime activities, even though you are grieving. Enjoying yourself does NOT mean you are not grieving or missing your child.
UNDERSTAND that healing begins with taking care of yourself too. That includes getting fresh air or vitamin D from the sun.
BE CREATIVE. On a good day, you want to take a favorite activity and do it in a special way to honor your child. If you spend some playing tennis with him or her, try to play a game or two and do it in their honor.
REMEMBER that summers will get better. Grief feels like it will never end, but it will ease up, lessen, and become less painful as time goes by.
Most importantly, let yourself do whatever makes you feel as okay as you can feel.

2022 Owen Martin Memorial 5K
3Hopeful Hearts is HONORED to be the beneficiary of the Owen Martin Memorial 5K!
When: July 9th, 5PM
Where: Windsor Lake, 100 N 5th St.
Who: YOU! This is a family friendly event to honor babies and children who have left this world too soon.
A message from the family:
"This race is to honor and remember our son, Owen Martin, who was born stillborn last September. But this race isn't just for him, but for all babies who left this world too soon.
We want to raise awareness for stillbirth, but also share hope and encouragement for parents/families who have suffered loss.
All proceeds from this race will go to 3Hopeful Hearts, a nonprofit organization that provides bereaved parents and families opportunities to honor, find hope, and seek healing through grief companionship."
